Chicago restaurant review- Duck Duck Goat

Duck Duck Goat in Chicago’s Fulton Market is one of those places that just makes you happy to eat out. It’s lively, a little chaotic in the best way, and full of energy that matches the colorful mix of dishes coming out of the kitchen.

We started with the bao buns, which were seriously excellent. Soft, pillowy, and packed with flavor, they set the tone for the whole meal. The jiaozi dumplings came next—rich and flavorful, a little fatty for my taste, but still really enjoyable. The cucumber salad was a perfect reset after that, cool and crunchy with just the right kick of spice.

My favorite dish of the night was the beef and noodle soup. The broth was unreal, deep and savory, the kind that makes you wish you had a second stomach. Definitely order a side of rice to soak it all up because you won’t want to waste a drop. The soup dumplings were also delicious, bursting with warm, comforting flavor in every bite.

If I had to nitpick, I’d say a few of the dumplings tasted a bit similar to each other, but honestly, that’s a minor thing in an otherwise amazing meal. Duck Duck Goat totally delivers on flavor, fun, and that cozy, food-happy feeling you hope for when you go out to eat. I’d go back in a heartbeat—mostly for that soup.
